AAA welding and fabrication: A family legacy built From steel

Founded in 1976 by Larry Bodiford, AAA Welding and Fabrication has grown into a trusted name in the structural steel and metalwork industry. Based in Athens, Georgia, the company specializes in structural steel, steel stairs, handrails, custom gates and other ornamental ironwork. With a commitment to quality craftsmanship and timely project delivery, AAA serves both commercial and residential construction projects throughout North Georgia. Larry began his career in millwright work, welding, repairs, and maintenance for major manufacturing companies—especially within the poultry industry. This demanding work often required long hours, holiday shifts, and extensive travel across the Southeast. In 1998, Larry’s son, Brandon Bodiford, joined the company, continuing the family tradition. By 2005, Larry and Brandon shifted their focus toward structural steel work to stay closer to home. Brandon began bidding on local commercial projects, and the business quickly grew through strong relationships with regional general contractors. Today, AAA Welding and Fabrication employs 28 dedicated team members whose reliability, skill, and commitment allow the company to maintain a high standard of production. The company has contributed to major projects across Northeast Georgia, including work for the University of Georgia, Athens-Clarke County, Athens Country Club, the City of Commerce, Newton County, Gwinnett County, Lake Oconee Academy, Athens Academy, Hyatt Place Hotel, Athens Church, and many other public and private clients. In 2024, Jeffery Bodiford, Larry’s youngest son, joined his brother to help lead the company into the future. With a background in banking and finance, Jeffery brings a fresh perspective and a shared passion for growing the family business and upholding its strong legacy.
